In the fall of 2021 Bottega Veneta, the Italian luxury fashion brand, brought their Spring 2022 fashion show to Detroit. Weeks in advance of the show, in an effort to welcome the fashion house to the city, I took it upon myself, as a native Detroiter, to welcome the storied fashion house to our city by sharing with them images that I felt captured the essence and heartbeat of this urban center. I had all of the images printed, packaged exquisitely (employing their signature color, a grassy green), and delivered directly to Milan, Italy to the attention of Daniel Lee (the brand's Creative Director at the time).
The self initiated project was met very graciously and with most appreciation by the Creative Director, who said to me, "This is the best gift I've ever received." Daniel Lee extended an invitation as his personal guest where I was seated at the front row for the exclusive and coveted event.
